Bowman est une sommit\u00e9 dans le domaine du r\u00e8glement des diff\u00e9rends en mati\u00e8re fiscale. M. Bowman a \u00e9t\u00e9 avocat-conseil au sein du groupe national de droit fiscal de Dentons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>M. Bowman a consacr\u00e9 sa carri\u00e8re aux litiges fiscaux. Il est entr\u00e9 au minist\u00e8re f\u00e9d\u00e9ral de la Justice, section du contentieux fiscal, peu de temps apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 admis au Barreau de l\u2019Ontario (en 1962) et il a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 directeur en 1968. Il a cofond\u00e9 le cabinet Stikeman, Elliott, Robarts &amp; Bowman en 1971, o\u00f9 il a exerc\u00e9 le droit jusqu\u2019\u00e0 sa nomination \u00e0 titre de juge \u00e0 la Cour canadienne de l\u2019imp\u00f4t (CCI) en 1991. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 juge en chef adjoint de la CCI en f\u00e9vrier 2000, poste qu\u2019il occupait lorsque la Cour est devenue une Cour sup\u00e9rieure en 2003. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 juge en chef de la CCI en f\u00e9vrier 2005 et a pris sa retraite en juillet 2008.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C&#8217;est avec tristesse que nous partageons la nouvelle du d\u00e9c\u00e8s de l&#8217;honorable Donald G.H. Bowman survenu le 8 juin 2022. M. Bowman \u00e9tait un fervent partisan et 1&#8217;homonyme du concours national de plaidoirie en droit fiscal Bowman depuis sa cr\u00e9ation en 2011. Il aimait rencontrer les participants du concours au fil des ann\u00e9es et partager des histoires alors qu&#8217;il \u00e9tait praticien et juge de la Cour canadienne de l&#8217;imp\u00f4t. Il manquera profond\u00e9ment au comite du concours Bowman et a tous ceux qui ont participe au concours, que ce soit en tant qu&#8217;\u00e9tudiant, superviseur, juge ou b\u00e9n\u00e9vole, au fil des ans.
